After a long wait, I’m happy to finally announce that the DiverseCanLit chats are back!
Back in January, I expressed my disappointment that the chats had lapsed and turned to all of you for help. And y’all really came through. Thanks to you spreading the word, I’m please to introduce our new DiverseCanLit co-hosts!
- Hayley is a fantasy author from Vancouver. Follow her at @hayleyelavik
- Toks is a book blogger and avid reader. Follow her at @newskepticx
- Kriz is a novelist with broad experience writing in different forms. Follow him at @KrizCuenco
These chats are meant to be a conversation, to highlight varying viewpoints, and brainstorm new ideas. Having different hosts fosters all of that. The four of us will be taking turns hosting the chat and guiding the discussions. As the year wears on, we’ll also be inviting guests in the publishing industry to join us for special topics and conversations.
Only a few things have changed: First, the chats are moving to Saturdays! This is far more convenient for folks who have to work Monday through Friday. Second, the times will vary to accommodate more people across time zones.
To celebrate the return of DiverseCanLit we’re going to have a bit of fun: Canada Reads 2015 starts Monday and I’d love to watch it with you! Follow the debates at CBC and use the #DiverseCanLit hashtag to share your thoughts. Then, on Saturday, March 21, at 10am Eastern Time (7am Pacific Time) we’ll come together to discuss the best (and worst) moments.
I’m so excited to see the progress we’ll make in 2015. It’s good to be back.
Join the conversation!
