One of the hardest parts of reading queries is not having the time to give personalized feedback. I got into publishing because I wanted to support writers and I am constantly looking for ways to do that. This year I started the LMV Office Hours program in partnership with A Different Booklist. It was a great way for me to have one-on-one meetings with writers. But after dozens of meetings and answering many of the same questions, I wondered if there was a way to share the knowledge more widely.
This summer I’m proud to introduce LMV Webinars! These are 1-hour online workshops that include 40 min lesson from me and 20 min Q&A period. Each webinar will have different topic and area of focus that will be announced at least 2 weeks in advance. The curriculum is ideal for writers seeking to hone their craft and gain insight on the book publishing process. Future topics include pitching non-fiction, author platforms, researching agents, and more. Plus everyone who registers will receive a copy of the recorded class–perfect for those who could not attend in person or who want to review the material at a more convenient time.
