When Victor Beausoleil and his colleagues invited me to speak at an afternoon literary expo they are hosting at Knowledge Bookstore, I had to say yes. An Afrocentric bookstore located in Brampton, Knowledge Bookstore was one of the first places the Festival of Literary Diversity was publicly announced and the African Canadian Literary Education event’s mission to build the capacity of black authors dovetails beautifully with my own mission.
I look forward to attending the event and listening to the presentations from over 25 writers and authors and to what is sure to be an incredible keynote from MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes.
If you can join, I would love to see there! The event is from 2pm to 4pm at Knowledge Bookstore (177 Queen St W, Brampton, ON L6Y 1M5) on Sunday July 21.
