I am ending May with a bang by presenting at Writefest, a writers’ conference in Houston, Texas. Hosted by Writespace, Writefest Houston is a week-long festival that includes workshops, panels and presentations led by writers, editors, and agents (like me).
In addition to giving writers feedback on their pitches, I’ll be moderating a panel about query letters. Kurestin Armada, Danielle Bukowski, Nicole Payne, Rose Shimomura, and I will talk about the function of query letters, what elements are most important, and which mistakes to avoid when writing them.
It will also be my first time in Texas! I definitely plan to eat all the things and explore as much as my schedule will allow.
